While we see the arrival of the first snowflakes of the winter and prepare for the holiday season, the INRSC pool board has its eye on the 2025 pool season and the challenges we face operating a 60-plus year old community asset.
With your generous support through membership dues, guest passes, facility rentals, raffles and snack shop purchases, we have been able to fully cover all our annual costs of guard wages, utilities, pool chemicals, insurance and many other costs totaling over $140,000 a year.
But the advanced age of our pools, clubhouse and related facilities create maintenance and repair challenges that have a significant cost.Β Our $75,000 County grant paid for new fencing, a new lifeguard chair and underground electrical grounding all around the pool. We have recently replaced both bathroom floors at a cost of over $8,000. We need to replace both underwater lights and floodlights, purchase a new pool vacuum and make other needed repairs.
These facilities costs far exceed our year-end reserves that typically sit at $30,000 or less for emergencies. We are seeking other grant funds but if received they will not cover all of the needed improvements.
So we are asking each of you to consider making a donation to the INRSC of any amount you feel you can make. If every member contributes $ 50, $ 100 or another amount, we can raise in the range of $ 15,000. Many of you indicated a willingness to contribute in our online member survey.Β All donations will go to a restricted building fund and be used solely for long-term repairs and improvements.
Credit Card payments made through the website add the service charge (3.5%).Β Which can be avoided by making checks payable to INRSC and mailed to:
